Aubergine is a deep wine hair dye with subtle purple undertones.
Our Aubergine Hair Dye works best on pre-lightened hair. Wine tones will be more pronounced on light blonde hair, giving you a rich, bold colour. We recommend using our High Lift Bleach Kit to create a level 9 or 10 (light blonde) base before applying the dye if you want maximum boldness from Aubergine.
On darker hair colours, you’ll still get a beautiful wine shimmer – even on dark brown hair, when it catches the light.
Aubergine is a popular balayage colour, making the perfect shadow root hue for a red balayage. Simply start with our Aubergine Hair Dye at your roots, and about a third of the way down your hair blend it into another colour with a brush. We’d recommend using a lighter shade of red such as Cyclamen or Ruby Rouge for perfectly-blended ends.
